SetCPU is a tool to change CPU settings on a rooted Android phone or tablet. SetCPU works with a wide variety of Android devices and ROMs, including HTC One series, Samsung Galaxy series, and Nexus devices. You’re in control: SetCPU can improve your performance, save battery, or both!

Root: SetCPU needs root permissions to change CPU speed and other settings.

Read logs: is used for efficient application status checking. Which is currently all it’s used for.

Start on startup: SetCPU will start a profiles service on startup, if enabled. It also sets the default startup parameters, if enabled. SetCPU does not work in the background if profiles are not enabled, and becomes inactive after settings, if any, are applied.

Wake lock: This prevents the phone from sleeping during stress and benchmarking tests.

Donate your external storage: SetCPU need to read and write to SD card or internal storage to save profiles.

Read phone state: The “in call” state needs to determine whether the user is making a phone call or not, and to trigger the profile if the user wants to.
